BALLET

“Ballet has been blessed and cursed by the profusion of coffee table books with ever more beautiful pictures of graceful bodies frozen in the air. But our work is about moving between positions, not maintaining positions. This is actually a fact of ballet in general, new and old: one moves through a position with greater or lesser accuracy.” Valerie Lawson
As dancers learn their craft they master complex motor skills in order to create the illusion of effortless movement, all the while shaping this effort to the music that supports the choreography . In this pursuit they bring both artistry and athletic efforts. In light of this Dance Science has much to offer the traditional model of training, by enriching the dancer’s practice, increasing performance potential and reducing injury probability.
Liza is teaching at the Conservatorio of Danza de Panama, situated in Ciudad Del Saber, as well as at Peridance, NYC, in July 2012.
